Description and Background
Description:
Liam was slightly tall and a bit lean but wiry. Though he is lean there is a tight sinew strength about him and the way he moves. This upper-middle-class upbringing apparent in his dress and bearing, comfortable at a table of elders arguing politics as he is in the fields putting in a hard day's work. He can look rough but often cleans up well. When the work is done he makes it obvious that he does, in fact, care about his appearance, but is not afraid to get dirty. He often smells of loam, cedar, and strong drink. He has the scarred hands of someone that has toiled long hours and the manicured nails of someone that with some privilage. Two extremes, trying to meet in the middle.

Background:
Liam Meadstaff was the third born son of a wealthy Middle-Class family in the settlement of Fort Fjord where between Istivin and Fien, where the Javan and Davish Rivers meet. Some 40years ago, a Lord Smythe whom Liam's father Wilhiem was in service to, put him in charge of establishing a new settlement between the towns as a halfway point for trade between the two main settlements in his lands. Wlihiem, as was the family's trade, quickly established a fortified defensive position on a hill between the delta streams, and quickly began raising bees and brewing his trademark mead. Just as he and his lord had predicted, the new jumping point increased trade, decreased delays, secured the frontier of that area against bandits, and of course, served to popularize Meadstaff's brew both with the merchants and the towns they traveled. Both the Lord and the Meadstaff family made, and still make, a lot of money from this gambler's arrangement on the prairie. Firstborn was his oldest brother Bivotar, who of course will inherit everything. Liam was fine with this since it took the stress of learning to be a proper lord off his shoulders. Liam was free to pursue his own interest in learning the trades and skills he has brought with him to this island. The second was his older sister, Jeranda. Following the traditions of a second born child in a wealthy family she followed martial persutes and joined the military as soon as she was of age. With her lifelong precence at the fort along with the sponsorship from their Lord Smythe, she was able to easily earn a commission as an officer and currently is third in command of the Lord Marshal there. Then came Liam followed by three other siblings after him, his brother Gilderoy, and twin sisters Gwen and Wren. Liam went against traditions and refused to go into the priesthood. He followed his sister into a short career in the military but quickly decided it wasn't for him. He was known to have chaffed at authority in his last year and refused, for the most part, to sp
