Description and Background
Description:
Keg was a rough looking individual. He was big, tall, and looked tough as nails with corded muscles across his torso and arms, and had a plethora of scars that simply didn't seem to match the usual uneventful life of a woodworker. His coppery hair hangs down thick and straight. His skin was pale but sun-kissed, and his eyes were gray as steel and twice as hard.
Background:
Keg was a man that stood by his principles. He hailed from the town of Dyvers where he joined a short-lived rebellion. He had been on of the first to stand up publicly against what had become known as the Craftsman's Rebellion against the taxes on artisans and their work. The revolt quickly escalated when the local lords sent out the militia against the craftsman. What the Lord didn't realize, was that the volunteer brigade made up just over 2/3 of the militia, and more than half of that was made up of the craftsmen themselves.
As violence erupted, they were initially very successful in usurping the Lord and taking over the town. A month later, reinforcement troops were sent from Libemen to quell the newly formed government. The people of Dyvers, lead by the craftsmen leaders, Keg among them, fortified their town and armed themselves, and once again repelled those that rose against them. Keg won distinction and a reputation on both sides of the conflict for his resourcefulness and dirty tactics against the Libemen infantry, earning his the name of The Mad Dragon.
The town of Dyvers enjoyed another 4 months of peace and had elected a representative government and life seemed to be getting back to normal as they rebuilt. It was on a late winter's night that the horns blew all too late from the watch towers. An army of veteran regulars had been sent all the way from Enstad complete with Royal Dragoons and archer regiments from Verbabonc. The royals were no longer playing around with any delusions of a ragtag group of peasants. They were squashing a full rebellion and reclaiming what they felt was theirs.
Before dawn had risen, the population had been either killed or rounded up in the town square. The new Governor General, sent by the Royal Council, was showing no mercy and promised that all the leaders of the rebellion would be found and publically executed as would those that were found to be aiding them.
