Description and Background   
Description:
Tall and very thin, Richard seems rather gaunt at first glance. But his color is good and his breathing seems strong and regular. His black hair and grey eyes compliment each other and his overall appearance is pleasing, with short hair and short-cropped mustache and beard. Initially he seems a bit surprised by just about everything.

Background:
As a child, Richard suffered from a withering disease, similar to polio. A cleric of Tritherion was able to save his life, and restore his health, but the damage to his muscles was untreatable by then. His physical weakness served to strengthen his will to learn all that he could. He worked to sharpen his mind and chose from his youth to learn the arcane arts. His parents were just wealthy enough to get him an apprenticeship with Dalen Gripp, a mage of some repute. Richard has recently finished his apprenticeship and bid farewell to his master, and his parents to set forth on his own, determined not to let his physical shortcoming deter him. As of now, he is not afraid of anything.
