Description:
A large lizardfolk that towers over most with piercing yellow eyes; whose right side is covered in burn scars, while the rest is covered in dark red scales.
Background:
Born in the small Lizardfolk village Kosj Hurthi, located at the base of Simele Mountain, Verthicha was raised as one of the tribes hunters. The tribe survived by hunting Kobolds in the nearby caves as well as fishing in the Lake of the Oreads to the South. From a young age Verthicha (meaning mountain in Draconic) had a habit of abandoning the hunt to climb Simele Mountain and peer out over the surroundings, hence how he received his name. It was during one of these outings that Verthicha’s village was overwhelmed by a force of Kuo-Toa that came from the nearby ocean to claim the lake for themselves. With the rest of the male Lizardfolk off somewhere in the Kobolds’ Caves the Kuo-Toa were able to overpower the villages female protectors. Thus, allowing the Kuo-Toa to swarm through the village gates and slaughter all the Lizardfolk within before most knew what was happening. After watching the chaos erupting down below for a brief period of time Verthicha scaled back down the mountain to warn the returning hunters, which would soon be walking into an unexpected Kuo-Toa invasion force. When Verthicha reached the hunters he explained the situation to them and a collective decision was made that they would need to employ help if they were to drive out these invaders. The pack of Lizardfolk numbering just a dozen journeyed to the Valley of Dragons in search of an old ally Turalisj Darastrix, a massive red dragon that had assisted them in conquering the very same territory they had just lost. The Lizardfolk explained their plight to the mighty Turalisj Darastrix who agreed to help them reclaim their village, but only after doing a favor for him. There was a nearby adult green dragon whom he called Achuakosj Faessi that had stolen the crown of a King, whose name has been lost to history, from Turalisj Darastrixs’ treasure horde.
