Description and Background   
Description:
A whimsical young gnome with brown wavy hair and goatee. His light green eyes have a sense of mirth in them and he smiles readily. Wearing a brace of darts and a belt strewn with pouches and daggers, he seems to be carefree and yet ready to tussle.

Background:
Named after his great-great-great-great-great-grandfather, Fitz (as he is known among his family and friends) has a heart of adventure, be it at his home in Longspear or exploring the Little Hills or the fringes of the Dreadwood. Life in the Yeomanry is good, but Fitz was never really cut out for the mines like his family. He loved to entertain his friends and go on 'ventures, be it climbing trees and battling imaginary dragons, to nicking a pie (or two) from the local bakery and sharing it over a bottle of wine (or two) with a pretty girl...or two! When Fitz discovered his great-great-gr...well you get the picture...grandfather's old trunk and spellbook hidden away in the attic, he was mesmerized by all of the pictures and funny words. Hauling the massive tome to the home of Old Man Brant, one of his dearest friends, he asked the 'wizard' if he could teach him a few things. The aged wizard scoffed at first, but then Fitz sheepishly returned a small diary he had filched from the man's office the last time he visited for wine and cake. Brant laughed and wheezed until he nearly passed out, and then relented on giving the young Fitz a bit of magical 'instruction.' From there, Fitz began practicing his newly learned craft (on his friends and family), but in the market one day, he heard about a 'big shiny island' far, far away, and seeing as he was on the outs with his Ma and Da, Fitz decided to seek fame and fortune elsewhere. Before he departed, he bought a small book and with his mentor's help, copied some of the spells from his grandfather's tome. He then promised Old Brant he would never forget him and would return some day and visit. With a heart of sadness and yet elation for the journey, Fitz left his family and friends and the only home he had ever known, booking passage with a merchant caravan on the road to Saltmarsh.
