Description and Background
Description:
Short, stocky, slightly bandy-kneed and always a little rumpled looking, Lardo's appearance belies his nimble reflexes. Is that a grease stain on his jerkin? Probably. Is that a dagger flashing behind his cloak? Indubitably.
Background:
Lardo is the bastard son of a disgraced Dunadan high priest of Raiden; he inherited all of his father's sumptuary vices and none of his piety. An urchin since childhood, he's tried his hand at a number of professions — pimp, merchant seaman, stevedore, hired thug — but his contrary nature and lack of work ethic have made straight life difficult. A taste for life's finer things combined with a chronic lack of funds have left him with little recourse but larceny.
Still, he's not a wholly bad sort ... though you're not likely to confuse him with a good sort either, unless you're Brother Henry, the young acolyte who has become Lardo's boon companion over the past year. Perhaps the cleric sees something redeemable in him. Despite any gruff appearances to the contrary, Lardo likes the kid, and will gladly come to blows with anyone who takes advantage of his naïveté. |
