Description and Background
Description:
Sacred and profane, holy and damned; the bony, wizened, mad dog, scarecrow prophet was wholly of the sea, except for his fire-and-brimstone eyes.

Background:
The ancient mariner and devout priest of Poseidon is a tempestuous, doom-haunted survivor of a ghost ship attack. In the heart of a lightning squall, unliving sea demons almost dragged his soul down to Davy Jones' locker. His life essence fading (back down to 1st level), Old Eli narrowly escaped death when a rogue wave threw him overboard. He washed up on a treeless, desert isle in the Sargasso Sea where he was trapped, a marooned castaway, for 13 years. There, the sea priest's mind, spirit and body were broken and rebuilt. Repeatedly. Finally, flotsam from some distant shipwreck washed ashore, giving him enough wood to build a raft and escape. Adrift at sea for countless weeks in the Atlantic, he was miraculously found and rescued by the crew of the Revenge. Source Material: The art of N.C.
