Background:
Dieter comes from an urban family. While attending school he became infatuated with the arcane and proceeded to seek it out anyway he could. During the later parts of his youth he explored the sewer system underneath the city he lived in with friends. After fighting off some rats he and his friends came upon a spellbook that an unfortunate individual had left behind during their demise. Upon taking the book to what he thought was a purveyor of tomes he found himself talking to a retired mage who took him under his wing. These events wetted his appetite for exploration in an attempt to find more of the arcane and unusual. In his youth this exploration took the form of avid reading anything he could get his hands on. While still reading Dieter has spent the last four years traveling and exploring places very distant from where he grew up. He is always looking for the unusual...

Lamp, Floor w/ combat cartridge
When this lamp is held and commanded to stand, it extends a magically created iron rod from it's base that stretches to the floor (max 10 feet). This stand disappears if the lamp is moved even slightly, but otherwise remains until commanded to vanish. When the lamp is held over a pit or floor trap, it can be commanded to create a floor of up to 400 square feet covering the dangerous area. The magical flooring appears as stone, but has no real existence and cannot move in anyway. The floor may be crossed safely and then it disappears in one turn. The floor lamp creates its rod as often as needed, but can create a floor only once per day. Combat cartridge: Plugs into the side of the lamp (it's an Atari 2600 game cart). This allows the lamp to act like Faerie Fire once per day. There are a few days worth of uses on it, so don't overdo it. On the house for bringing in the cute one.
