Background:
Dorn Niederlander, but everyone calls him “Doubtful” Doubtful is a rather dour, unassuming man. A farmer by trade though more and more has become something of the unofficial veterinarian for the community, being consulted more widely regarding livestock husbandry. While still maintaining his farm, Doubtful travels as well to care for others’ livestock and the people as well. Devoted to his vocation, the methodical Doubtful is known to have a steely will underneath the placid exterior. The increasingly disturbing lights and noises, as well as the reports of…something being more active in the night, has preoccupied Doubtful. As his own livestock and that of his neighbors become more troubled (breaking out of pens, panic, decreased offspring) Doubtful decides something needs to be done. He does not think of himself as a brave man but doing nothing while his wards are terrified and decompensate is intolerable. It is a little reassuring that others will accompany him when he ventures out.
