Description and Background    Description: Elden is a tall and imposing man with angular features and prematurely graying hair. He often has a grim look on his face--his only other expression is one of mild worry. Background: Fleeing the wartorn county of Idee, Elden Vodarte experienced a hectic and nomadic upbringing, living with constant fear of pursuers, being ushered from land to land. In that time, he learned much about surviving in the wilderness. Eventually his surviving family--his mother, brother, and two sisters--found shelter in The Duchy of Geoff, but Elden delined to join them. The wild was too much a part of him now, and he chose to live on the outskirts of human society. He trained himself to protect his loved ones from afar, eliminating anything in the wilderness that could represent threat to humankind.

As a child, Elden's last memory of his homeland is hiding from invaders in a secluded temple to Obad-Hai. In one tapestry the god had an axe very similar to this. When he found the axe among the wreckage of a slain caravan decades later, he took it as a diving sign. Choosing the name for largely nostaligic and symbolic reasons, Elden carries it into battle against common beasts and creatures unnatural.
