Description and Background
Description:
Urbane, dashing Ugghra was utterly resplendent in his devastatingly fashionable ensemble, cut in the style that was all the rage at court this season, custom tailored from the finest fabrics to conform to his... shall we say, 'unique' shape and stature? One exquisitely frilly cuff hid a scented handkerchief and the other, a snuffbox. His stylish evening cape rested lightly upon his broad shoulders. He might have been mistaken for a suave young aristocrat on his way to the opera, were it not for his simian aspect, monstrous fangs, and decidedly Orcish name, selected by his mad parents to celebrate his heritage, of all things!
Would you be so kind as to allow me to explain? Please follow along with your eye to the section directly below. I thank you.
Background:
Baron and Baroness Caine were young, arrogant, pompous and self-centered. All in all, the flower of the Greyhawk aristocracy. Yet, rather than be content in the envious station life had kindly seen fit to afford them, they were strangely restless. Most irregular, I assure you. In short order, this most unfortunate quality proved to be their downfall. I dare say, we all rather saw it coming. Unable to conceive, due to the barrenness of the Baroness, the couple adopted a half-orc bastard orphan from some tedious Orc War or other, and raised it as their own child! Can you imagine? Scandal ensued, rightly so, and they were soon the black sheep of two noble and well bred families. Most regrettable. But hardly undeserved, eh?
Then, rather than be overwhelmed with a deep and right sense of personal failure, rather than seek forgiveness and kind permission to be welcomed back into polite society, they dragged their families’ good names even lower. It's enough to make a mother weep. Our two young parents sent their ghastly little monster to study at the finest academies, attend all the events of high society, enter the holy church, and even frequent the royal court! A touch of the madness had always been in her family, now that I reflect upon it.
Today, that towering, bestial monstrosity pretends to be a suave, educated, refined, aristocratic, well-mannered gentleman, despite all his natural, bloodthirsty urges to the contrary! How much longer can he keep up this distasteful charade before he succumbs to madness, like his parents before him? The sheer audacity is appalling. It’s a travesty and an affront. Woeful is the brazenness of this generation! Our beloved nation is going to hell in a handbasket. Let this sad tale serve as a lesson and a warning to us all!
