Description and Background
Description:
With a thick reddish auburn beard, and taller than most of his blood, this burly half elf is easy to mistake for human. His bright gold eyes the only outward sign of his elven mother.

Background:
Calto’s human father Rajimon once ruled a city far to the north, using his natural might and unyielding ferocity to carve a kingdom where there was once but the great forest Flosial. In the building of his empire, this man destroyed many, including a native sect of flosialan wood elves; taking their beautiful queen Slyvana Lightstep as a war bride. She would suffer many punishments at Rajimon’s cruel hands, but it would be the act of childbirth that took her life a few months later. With her last breath, she held her son and named him Calto, which means bringer of balance in her elven tongue. And as his mother faded away, Rajimon snatched the infant from her now cold embrace and gave the child another name – Moonslayer – for the boy had taken from him the greatest bauble in his kingdom. Calso was raised to be a prince, but learned of his elfish ancestry in secret through the flosialan slaves. He grew to be a conflicted youth. On one path, he could grow to be a tyrant like his father; on another he could forsake his crown and die as a slave with the rest of his mother’s people. On the boy’s 12th birthday he rejected both paths, calling on the spirits of nature to show him the way. They brought balance by sending a great fire to level the city and what little remained of the forest. The only survivor, Calto left that area and began his trek throughout the realms, having learned the lesson of balance that day. As a force for nature, he would walk in the light, but cast a shadow as all things do that stand in the sun.
