Description and Background
Description:
A stout ginger dwarf, this one. He appears a bit lazy, but he is not short on strength. He's also surprisingly healthy, at least for his community of dwarven-kin. He has chosen to keep his hair free hanging, refusing to shave it. One would compare it to the hair of elves, but much dirtier and haggled. His beard is his pride, for he's taken to adding precious gems to the various rings that hold it in a single stripe of hair.
Background:
Since this dwarf was young, he has been taking leftover stones from the paths of the miners as they were expanding and crafting them into his own little trinkets. He's managed to fashion many things, from cups and bowls to decent battle equipment. However, on one of his treks for more stone, he came across a small cavern with an oddly large egg in it. As he was finding out what it was, it hatched into a Kobold. Feeling responsible for the young creature, Grindhelm took it upon himself to take care of it. As everyone was asleep, he took the newly hatched Kobold to his home and began to raise it. Years later, the community was attacked by a band of looters and thugs from a nearby town. Grindhelm was away from the attack, trying to find some decent food for his child, but returned to find it ransacked and destroyed. Including his Kobold young, named Garaz. He gathered what little he could find, including the skull of his lost young, and set off on a journey to claim the lives of bandits and thugs, regardless of the consequences. |
