Description and Background   
Description:
Syd is an averaged sized Half-Elf. Fortunately for him, his looks favor his human heritage. If it wasn't for his slightly pointed ears, (that he never deliberately shows in public) He could easily pass for any regular human male. He has long brown hair that he usually wears in a tight ponytail that covers his ears. He also always wears a hat or bandana for double ear coverage, just in case. His clothing is somewhat modest considering his profession and he prefers plain browns and blacks as opposed to bright flamboyant clothing. His traveling clothing is made of heavy leathers but he is never seen wearing armor of any kind. Syd is rather good looking and has a great demeanor which always makes him sound like a genuinely nice person. He is well liked by most folks that he meets and has been known to leave a trail of broken-hearted ladies in his wake from place to place. He has mastered many forms of entertainment over the years and is quite adept at acting, singing, dancing, playing music, and reciting poetry. He fancies himself a bit of a history buff and is always willing to discuss and learn about anything that's new to him.

Background:
Syd grew up in the Green Ward in the capital city of Gothmoor. His mother worked at a prominent local watering hole when he was growing up. His very first memory from childhood was sneaking in and watching the live entertainment while she worked the tables. He got to see many presentations with all manner of singing, dancing, and general merriment and liked it all very much. From very early on he knew that whatever he did in his life he wanted to entertain people. Syd never knew his father and his human mother never spoke of him unless she was asked. Even then, all he could get from her is that he was a handsome Elf that hailed from the Blackwood forest. They only knew each other for a short time and she hasn't seen him since before Syd was born. Growing up on the tough streets of Gothmoor, Syd was forced to survive in less than pleasant conditions. Although they weren't exactly poor, they lived by very meager means. This taught Syd humility and he vowed that no matter how rich and famous he got in his life of entertaining and adventuring, he would never forget what it was like living at the bottom of the social ladder. Eventually Syd hooked up with a pair of like minded adventuring types and they all formed their very own adventuring trio. After many years of playing and adventuring together they became fast friends and a band to be reckoned with in their own right. One of them was a spell casting Gnome named Grimbal Grumble and the other was a clumsy axe wielding Dwarf named Eugene. They started to call themselves the 'Madcaps' just for fun and the name has stuck with them ever since. Alas.....One day, after a short temporary hiatus from their traveling adventures, Syd could not find his comrades anywhere in the city. He knew that there had to be something wrong because his lifelong friends would never plan a trip somewhere and not even tell him about it. For days Syd searched for clues he needed to find his lost friends but the only shred of evidence he could find was a tiny piece of parchment
