Description and Background
Description:
Tall and very strong, with brown hair and brown eyes. She is always serious, letting her companion make the jokes while she watches. Her demeaner says military experience. She in merciless when encountering anything undead and will not stop until it is completely destroyed.

Background:
Maya was born to a poor and broken home in an even poorer farming village. At a young age she was sold from her parents to a traveling bandit group which was then slaughtered by a squadron of soldiers that were protecting a town, after watching the soldiers kill the bandits Maya was taken in by the captain of the squad, she never found out if it was out of pity or not. She was raised by that captain, Marcus, and became family with the whole squadron. Everyone was like brothers to her and every one of them would do anything for her; she learned how to use a sword from them as she grew up and when she was 14 she was able to compete with any of them. She joined that group of soldiers when she was old enough, laughing with her sword brothers and captain father as one big family as they went throughout the countryside to different towns and villages to defend them against attacks, Everything was perfect. They were stationed at a town that bordered a mountain range, there were reports of troll activity in those farmlands, it didn't seem to be anything troubling; they had killed trolls before. After a month of being stationed at that town something happened that they were not ready for, the night of her 20th birthday her world fell apart. As they celebrated her birthday the guard was relaxed and not expecting anything to happen, they were wrong. As the night went on no one no one noticed the horde of undead descending upon the village, in moment the night was filled with laughter and merriment, the next, it was filled with screams of terror and sounds of battle. As great as the soldiers were they were fighting at an extreme disadvantage, the undead creatures washed upon them, those soldiers fought for every inch of ground but in the end it was not enough, they were slaughtered one by one until there was only a few left, 3 of her sword brothers, Her captain father, and Maya herself facing off against an army of the dead in a tight enclosed alleyway, they had nowhere to go and fought like crazed animals. Blind-Fighting Non-Weapon Proficiency
This allows characters to ignore many of the problems inherent in fighting without being able to see. In
total darkness, the character suffers –2 (not –4) to attack rolls, and suffers no penalties to AC versus melee
attacks. In starlight or moonlight, the character suffers only a –1 penalty to attack rolls. When moving in darkness, the character is allowed to make a proficiency check at the beginning of a round; success means no movement penalties are assessed because of the darkness, while failure means the normal penalty applies. When in combat with an invisible creature, the character with blind-fighting proficiency suffers only a –2 to attack rolls, but gains no benefit toward discovering the creature.
Leadership Non-Weapon Proficiency
Characters with the leadership talent understand how to motivate troops and get the most out of their men. In battlefield situations, a military unit led by the hero gains a +2 bonus to any morale checks they have to make. If you are playing with the mass combat rules in Chapter Eight, the character is treated as if he were three levels higher than he really is, so a 4th-level fighter can command troops as a 7th-level fighter if he possesses this talent.
