Description:
Jaelen is a figure both radiant and worn by the harsh world around him. His features are sharp and defined, but there is an undeniable weight in the gaze, one that betrays the years he has spent battling darkness. His skin is pale, as though the light of Pholtus himself has begun to wear him down, but his eyes burn with a fiery resolve, the only visible sign of his divine connection. His Jet black hair is streaked with silver, a mark of both the passing of years and the toll of his relentless mission. Jaelen wears chainmail beneath a white tunic—simple yet effective in the harsh world around him. The tunic is emblazoned with the radiant sun and eye symbol of Pholtus, though it is now worn and stained from countless battles. His holy mace is ever at his side, its head carved with the radiant symbols of the sun—proof of the divine justice it carries. In his other hand, he grips a sturdy wooden shield, scarred from numerous confrontations but still intact, a constant reminder that faith and protection go hand-in-hand.

Background:
Jaelen was born in a once-thriving town, known for its devotion to Pholtus, the god of light and order. The town, nestled near the edge of a dark and corrupting wilderness, had been a place where the principles of law and justice reigned supreme. Jaelen’s parents were among the last respected clergy in the town, his father a paladin of Pholtus, and his mother a high priestess devoted to maintaining the light against the ever-encroaching shadows. From a young age, Jaelen was immersed in the teachings of Pholtus—order, justice, and the belief that the light was a force to restore balance in the world. He was raised in the temple, surrounded by sacred texts and the flickering glow of the divine fire that had once been the heart of the town. But that fire was growing dimmer with each passing year, the undead were closing in. When Jaelen turned seventeen, the creeping darkness finally reached his town. A series of horrifying events—plagues of undead, twisted and corrupt magics, and strange phenomena that defied understanding—plunged the town into chaos. As the people grew desperate and the streets were overrun with fear, Jaelen experienced a vision, one that would forever change his life. In the vision, he stood at the altar of his town’s temple, surrounded by blinding light. Before him appeared Pholtus in his divine form—radiant, stern, and commanding. “The darkness grows ever stronger,” Pholtus’s voice resounded, “and my light is faltering. Jaelen, you must carry the light of justice into the deepest shadows. The undead, the horrors that plague this land—these are but the beginning. You must bring my light to those who are lost.” With the creeping shadows threatening to overwhelm everything he once knew, Jaelen became a wandering servant of Pholtus, traveling from village to village, town to town, each one plagued by the horrors of the land.
