Description and Background
Description:
Dorian is a man of striking presence. His golden-brown hair catches the morning light like the first rays of dawn, complementing his piercing blue eyes, which shine with an inner fire kindled by faith.
His features are strong, yet kind, his expression often calm but resolute. A thin scar on his left cheek, earned in his first battle, is a quiet reminder of the cost of heroism.
His armor gleams like the morning sun, adorned with the symbol of Lathander- a golden sunburst rising over the horizon. His shield, bearing the crest of of House Valorcrest- a silver lion standing against darkness - represents his family's long-standing commitment to righteousness.
Background:
Born into a long storied line of knights, a noble house renowned for its unwavering commitment to justice, honor, and the morninglord, Lethander, Dorian Valorcrest is following in the footsteps of his forebears who have served as protectors of the realm for generations.
At the age of 12, his world was shattered. A ruthless warlord led a horde of raiders and undead abominations against his father's keep. All fell, except Dorian and a handful of survivors, forced to flee into the wilderness as his ancestral home burned in the night sky.
For weeks, he wandered the wilderness with his people, surviving on faith and the kindness of strangers. It was during these trials that he found strength in Lathander's teachings - the belief that even after the darkest night, the dawn would come.
He was eventually taken in by Brother Aldros, and aging paladin of Lathander who had fought alongside his father. Under Aldros's guidance, Dorian trained in the art of war and the ways of the Morninglord, learning that true strength lay not just in the blade, but in hope, mercy and perseverence.
By the age of 17, Dorian took the paladin's oath before temple elders, swearing to uphold Lathander's will and bring light to the darkest corners of the realm.
Dorian Valorcrest is a knight with a cause, his past fueling his resolve. Though haunted, he does not dwell in grief- he marches forward, toward the dawn. |
